As others brought up the addition of some cayenne i added about half a teaspoon. I did find that the couscous absorbed a lot of broth, but I just add some additional broth before reheating leftovers. I tried a modified version of this recipe and it was great. I had 3 cups of chicken broth soup from a left over roasted chicken carcass. So I also halved the amounts from this recipe.

Instead of celery, I used chopped green pepper. I used garlic paste instead of cloves. On a whim I added two dashes of CINNAMON (Thai Pho inspiration). Oh I did leave out the peas. I love the addition of ginger and turmeric- a delicious twist. Also love changing it up with the couscous. This recipe is a keeper. I always add potato (put them in when I add the carrots and celery) to make it extra hearty and peas are definitely a must. I rarely use Turmeric, rosemary, thyme and ginger, tardive dyskinesia these ingredients made the ov flavor incredibly, unbelievably delicious.
